Belgium Brussels 1980s
The city of Brussels has suffered from many years of urbanistic incoherence after the 1958 World Exhibition. Whole areas of the town were destroyed for empty office buildings, others were left abandoned, traffic became a nightmare and public transportation was unpopular. Some effort was made in the late 70’s to improve the situation but in architecture the term ‘Bruxelisation of a city’ remains.
